A hearing was held on June 21st in Columbus to consider our application to place the Mantua Center School on the National Register of Historic Places. We passed with flying colors. No one spoke in opposition and the board had received 106 letters of support from township residents and also from our State Senator. The appllication now goes to the Natgional Park Seervice in Washington D.C., the same peolpe who oversee the Washington Monument, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, Yellowstone National Park and Yosemite, known for their unparrelled beauty. Final consideration will take place by early September but this first approval is a huge step towards final approval.
The Mantua Restoration Society would like to thank all who have supported our efforts to reach this milestone. Your support has helped to bring the treasure at our township's center into the national consciousness.
